What’s New in Kriyo – February 2025

This February release focuses on making everyday tasks simpler, clearer, and more reliable—from lesson planning and attendance to fees, reports, and franchisor workflows —helping schools and childcare centres work faster with fewer errors.

LMS Updates

We’ve refined lesson planning to give educators more control and predictability.

  • Lesson Plan Date Changes:

    • When changing lesson plan dates, you’ll now be asked whether you want to keep the existing lessons or clear them.

    • Keep lessons updates only the dates
    • Clear lessons removes the lesson content
  • Lesson Order Stays Intact:

    • Lessons now remain in the same sequence in which they’re added, instead of being rearranged alphabetically. This makes lesson planning more intuitive.

Fee Management Improvements

Managing fees and reports is now more flexible and consistent.

  • Schools without a payment gateway can now set a default customised fee receipt from

    • Admin Tools → Configurations → Customise Fee Receipt

  • You can now select multiple academic years in:
    • Payments reports
    • Invoice search
  • Academic Year is now:
    • Included in all downloaded Excel reports
    • Displayed clearly on fee receipts
  • A Quick Download button lets you save PDF bills instantly without opening them first

Attendance Updates

Attendance marking is now more flexible, with added checks to prevent errors.

  • Attendance can now be marked for the last 30 days (available on Pro & Pro+ plans)
    • Requires:
      • Attendance – Previous Date permission
      • Attendance – Previous Time permission
  • The time picker on the web app has been improved:
    • Use the up arrow to reduce time
    • Use the down arrow to increase time
  • OUT time can’t be earlier than IN time
      • If an earlier time is selected, an alert is shown and attendance isn’t saved.

Children & Staff Profile Enhancements

A few updates make onboarding and reporting smoother.

Children Profiles

  • After adding a child profile, the Invite Parents popup now opens automatically.
  • Selecting Invite Parents takes you directly to the child’s program, instead of the first program.

Staff Report Access

Permissions are now more clearly defined:

  • Reports → View staff and children attendance reports
  • Enquiry Summary → Access enquiries reports
  • Children Profile → Access admissions reports

Other Platform Enhancements

We’ve also made several small but meaningful improvements across the platform:

  • Calendar (Web): After adding or editing an event or holiday, the calendar stays on the same month so you can easily review your changes.
  • Improved Security: Right-click is disabled on the web app, and a clear download option is available for attachments.
  • Single-Tab Access: The Kriyo web app now opens in only one tab or window to avoid data conflicts.
  • Expenses: Newly added expenses now appear at the top of the list.
  • Clearer Downloads: Download buttons now show file-type icons before downloading.
  • Inventory: New orders appear at the top of My Orders for quicker access.
  • Assessments: A search filter has been added to Assessment Templates.
  • Login Invites: Staff and parent invites now pre-fill and open directly in WhatsApp Web on the browser.
  • Watermark Controls: Watermarks can now be resized using preset options (100, 150, 200, 250 px, or actual size).

Franchisor App Updates

These updates improve visibility and coordination across centres.

  • Enquiry form and QR code are now available on the web.

    • Parents can select a centre, submit the form, and the centre is notified instantly. All enquiries are automatically added to the school’s Kriyo account.

  • You can now view and filter enquiries added by the Franchise HO,including those from bulk uploads, QR codes, or the app.
  • A version check is now available in the Franchisor app, just like other Kriyo apps.
