What Is Parent Access Control?

Parent Access Control allows schools to decide what parents can and cannot do inside the Kriyo Parent App.

It helps schools maintain data accuracy, reduce manual follow-ups, and control parent-initiated actions—without blocking visibility.

Using this feature, schools can control whether parents can:

  • Send queries or requests to the school
  • Edit their child’s profile
  • Give access to other family members
  • Download assessments or videos
  • Mark fee bills as paid (for offline payments)

Why Parent Access Control Matters

Every school operates differently. Some want parents to self-serve; others prefer tighter control.

Parent Access Control helps schools:

  • Prevent unnecessary edits or requests
  • Reduce manual verification work
  • Maintain clean and accurate student data
  • Decide how much flexibility parents should have

School-Level vs Child-Level Control

Kriyo offers two layers of control:

School-Level (Default Settings)

  • Applies automatically to all new child profiles
  • Ideal for defining standard rules across the school

Child-Level (Customised Settings)

  • Allows overrides for specific children
  • Useful when exceptions are needed for certain families

When Do Changes Take Effect?

  • New enrollments: Updated settings apply automatically
  • Existing child profiles: Continue with earlier settings unless specifically changed
